First week is over

This was my second class of icarus project, all group members met again and discussed about their findings of one week, this time everyone was aware about the various carsharing organizations across the globe with a better idea about carsharing from last week. We got a focused map of design planning from Dr. soumitri which made us clear about two things one car design and the other carsharing service design in this project. Also We talked about the possibility of carsharing with muscle cars. We discussed about the context of carsharing keeping location and distance traveled in mind like city, suburb or rural as its mostly encouraged and practical where public transport is available or people have alternative mode of transport, as cost of carsharing has to be less than the cost of owning a car in long term basis keeping unrestricted mobility of people in mind.

I also studied and tried to make connections through a map by putting carshare in the center. Its just a rough connection which i’ll refine and build soon for getting clear direction.

Carsharing System

Here i have tried to map the key elements related to carsharing for example, the need, earning and sociocultural profile of user, types of organizations involved in it, the fee structure and its operation and services.
